We are located just beneath the charming village of Ruddington in the Nottinghamshire countryside, around 15 minutes’ drive south of central Nottingham.

Sitting on the site of Nottingham Transport Heritage Centre, The Railway Hall is located alongside Ruddington Fields station, the terminus station of the of the Great Central Railway Nottingham.

This station is still active today for specialist rides hauled by steam and diesel powered locomotives, as well as being the home of a collection of heritage buses and a miniature railway. You can discover more about the Heritage Centre here.

We can cater for up to 200 seated guests, and up to 300 standing.

The Railway Hall measures around 485 sq metres, with soaring 5m ceilings and 4.25m high entry shutters, meaning we can accommodate a wide range of event styling, installations, decorations or set pieces.

We work closely with our catering partners AR&Co. Experienced and local, they deliver delicious food for a number of event styles, from canapes and sit-down dinners through to street food and buffets - or a blend of everything.

They also offer drinks services to suit you, whether that’s a fully stocked bar or staffing services for a dry hire.

Our location on the Nottingham Heritage Transport Centre site means we are surrounded by history.

Prior to your event, we can work with the Heritage Centre to hire vintage buses, an Inspectors Saloon carriage on a historical steam- or diesel-powered locomotive, or arrange for you to takeover a whole train!

With private round trips available for booking along over 8 miles of historical railway in the Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire countryside, it’s a memorable way to start any event.
